This one speaks for itself. But there is hidden truth in this. Lots of people carry credit card debt and it doesn’t go away with marriage. I’m shocked at the number of people within retirement age who still carry card debt. A recent newspaper article sited that many baby boomers had less than $8,000 saved for retirement. I hope to hell that was a misprint, but sadly. I don’t think it was. Youngsters just starting out need to maximize their retirement accounts and open up and max out a Roth IRA from day one. If married learn to live off of one income and save the other. You have time on your side. Start saving and investing in your 20’s and 30’s, not your 50’s and 60’s.
