IRN BRU beats out Coke as No. One Soft Drink in Scotland

No. one soft drink in Scotland.

Irn Bru No. one soft drink in Scotland.

You never know what you’ll learn when you travel. I learned that Coca Cola is not the number one soft drink in Scotland like it is for the rest of the world. (Click to see which countries Coke does not hold first place). The number one spot in Scotland goes to the very interesting tasting IRN BRU. An acquired taste is quickly attainable as my nephew took 2 liters with him back to the states. Ingredients are: Carbonated water, sugar, citric acid, flavorings, caffeine, quinine and preservatives and colourings. Yes quinine, apparently it fights malaria and repels mosquitos.  Congratulations to Scotland for being different. I think part of the reason this drink is number one is a direct result of the creative advertising they do. See below and check out some of their  ads.
